we all know for something about the Japanese...
they do one thing well...
no not porn...
u hentai...
no not anime and manga...
both under 18 and above 18 version...
or toys...
or funny erotica games featuring a vast range of character choices and storylines...
u otaku...
no not the funny, wacky dramas featuring actors and actresses with amazingly good skin that disillusion to think that there are no ugly people in Japan...
u drama freak...
no not the amazing food and beverages...
u food addict...
no not the fantastic electronics like the PlayStation...
the PSP...
the Wii...
the DS...
mp3...
Discman...
Walkman...
no u gadget crazy...
what i am talking is their ability come out with amazing new technologies that are both creepy and mind-blowing...
let's not talk about that scarily realistic receptionist robot they have introduced to the world a few months back...
just look at this...
a simple computer rendering technology that helps create a 3D virtual image of u out of a digit still...
if u are interested, go find out more at www.motionportrait.com/e/
the team behind motionportait...
yes i did a little research...
is the same team that developed and researched on the same technology for Sony...
given the 3D rendering is not that fantastic yet...
but after i have experiment with it a little...
i realise it really depends on the photo u supply...
as long as u stay within the guidelines...
front view...
eyes open, mouth close...
not against bright colours...
the end result is pretty amazing..
there is actually an iTunes app version of this...
u simple can choose to take a photo...
or use an existing photo...
and run the app to create the 3D virtual image that u can dub with ur own voice...
i have use this method to get my Buffon and Del Piero...
but surprisingly, it does not work so well when i try to get my own talking cartoon...
i think it has to do a lot with the colour of the character in question and the background of the picture...
1 huge, huge bummer is that there is no way to port whatever u created out of ur iTouch/iPhone...
or at least i haven't found a way yet...
app sells for US$2.99...
which is kind of a small price to pay for this amazing technology...
if u really utilise it...
wait i am beginning to sound like i am selling the app...
but in any case...
i was really blown away by this technology...
